In the Year 2000. . . . . .

. . . . I lived five months of my life in Madrid, Spain and another three in Sydney, Australia. I danced, laughed, traveled, and had the best times. This week a friend from those adventure was in Austin for work and we got to catch up on the good ol' times.

In anticipation of his arrival, I just HAD to finish my scrapbooks from those days. Yes, scrap BOOKS. When I returned from The Big Adventure, I started scrapbooks... and finished a couple. However, for the most part, this crazy adventure had too many good times to get down on paper. I had photos of all the events, but to sit down and put it on paper became an overwhelming experience.

Fast forward seven years, and I'm 90% complete! I have four albums:
  • The first album finished (in 2000 no less) is the scrapbook of my Olympic adventures. No, I wasn't an athlete. This adventure revolved around the Sydney 2000 Olympics.

  • The second album finished (in roughly 2004) is the scrapbook of my adventures Down Under. Highlights include a weekend houseboat trip, hiking in Drop Down Bear forests, and The Great Barrier Reef.

  • The last two albums are the adventures in Spain, which hold a special place in my heart. Too many fun times with a great group of friends! We experienced so much that I couldn't fit it all in one album!!!

This swap is not disposable

I participated in my first Craftster swap last month! What's a swap, you ask? A swap is a way to get presents in the mail from other crafty folks!

This was the Disposable Camera Swap. I took photos of my hometown & crafted a picture frame and my partner did the same. My partner Malina lives on a small farm outside of Knoxville, Tennessee. Here are my favorite pictures from her:

Cows!
All of my high school friends know my obsession with the cow!

Knoxville Sunsphere!
The Sunsphere, one of the last reminents of the 1982 Worlds Fair held in Knoxville.

Did you know that Knoxville and the Sunsphere were featured in the Spring Break episode of the Simpsons!?!

The Shed
This is a shed on her 150 year old farm. I love the light and texture of this photo.

Likewise, these are my favorite photos I took for my partner:

Stevie & downtown
A view of the Stevie Ray Vaughn statue, Lady Bird Lake, and downtown Austin.

Janis Guitar
One of the Gibson guitars displayed around town.

All photos can be seen here.

Christmas Craftin'

Feliz Navidad!

On Sunday afternoon, I attended my first quilt class Introduction to Paper Piecing at the Honey Bee Quilt shop.

I've sewn a few paper pieced blocks so far, but these are my favorite:

Its me!

Hello fellow crafters!

I've been reading your blogs for almost a year now... and I've decided to add my own!

I wanted to create a place where I can share my own projects with friends.
