Mama, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys

Raiders Baby Shower Sign

A couple weekends ago I hosted an Oakland Raiders themed baby shower with two other friends. This was the first baby shower I've hosted where there were both guys and girls. Usually, I prefer girl time, but this go around, co-ed just seemed right. I knew the dad-to-be would love being there and figured we could do some non-girly games for the guys. And this group of friends likes to hang out and eat, so why not?

Oakland Raiders you might be asking? Why the Raiders?

Because mom & dad to-be are HUGE Raider fans. HUGE, I tell ya. See for yourself.

And it wouldn't be a party, if I didn't Martha-it-up!! Special thanks to AllSorts for her adorable (& free!) letters. I used them for the banner, party favors, front yard sign, and cupcake tags. We also made two diaper cakes because Mom & Dad are having TWINS! One diaper cake for each little baby.

We just had to play the "Drink Beer From a Baby Bottle" game. This wasn't your average afternoon tea baby shower: we were gonna get wild! Let's just say... it felt a little weird filling up bottles with beer.

Not to mention, it felt even more odd to drink beer from a baby bottle! Our friends did a pretty good job of completing the task.

The guests also tried to guess the size of Mom-to-be's belly. She's got TWO babies in there, folks! She's looking great for being seven months pregnant.

As for gifts, I wasn't the only one who had Raiders on the brain. I made two baby blankets, onesies, and a travel diaper changer -- all with Raiders themed fabric. Other guests got the boys Raiders tees and handmade silver and black baby bats!

Thanks Kristina. :) I have to say... I'm really inspired these days by the baby showers featured at Hostess With the Mostess! Its amazing what you can accomplish with a paper, glue, and a little hard work. :)
