I'm trying to sound like I know what I'm doing, like I actually have a green thumb. I should, being descendants of potato farmers. But no... I don't.
Usually I pick up flowers from my local neighborhood mega hardware store, but this year I'm going to grow my own!
Again, I'm trying to sound like I know what I'm talking about, but no... I don't.
Tonight I saw a post about making your own biodegradable plant pots, so I gave it a try! It was actually very easy, taking about 45 minutes to roll the newspaper containers, fill them with soil and seeds, and add a little bit of water. The hardest part is waiting 7-10 days for the seeds to germinate, which is when I'll plant the entire container in the ground.

Left to right are seeds of: Zinnia, Shasta Daisy, Sunflower, Petunia, and Forget Me Not. If these flowers even sprout, I doubt they'll make it through the hot Texas summer... But I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
