My Valentine's Gift

For my sister's 30th bithday, I made her a bright floral lap quilt. I had some leftover floral fabric strips, so I put them together into a quilt for myself. That was circa August 2007. Fast forward eighteen months... and I've finished my own quilt!

This was my own Valentine's Day treat to myself! I finished the front borders and backing the week before V-day. During the work week leading up to V-day, I did some quilting and binding. Valentine's Day was spent finishing my binding and quilting! I got to pop it in the washer and dryer on the 15th... and snuggle up with the wonderful, cozy, crinkly-ness that night, while watching my favorite Sunday night show.

I've learned so much while making this quilt! I'm no longer afraid to machine quilt. I don't think I'll go back to the days of yarn-tying large quilts. I haven't mastered free motion quilting, but I can do wavy lines! And that's good enough for me.

Hi Jodi! Thanks for stopping by. I added you to my reader too. :)

As for my etsy shop... that is SOOO out of date! HA! But yes, at least I'm keeping busy with crafting activities.
