AMQG: Year Long Quilt-a-long - My finished blocks

I'm kind of obsessive compulsive. I start a project, and if I really, really, really like it, I don't stop till I've finished it. Which probably qualifies me to be a good quilter? :)

I hope y'all have been following along with the Austin Modern Quilt Guild's Year Long Quilt-a-long! Last weekend at the AMQG quilting retreat, I finished four blocks. And over the past week, I have finished the other eight. I just couldn't stop working on the project... hence the obsessive compulsiveness! All blocks are finished and the quilt top is DONE!

For this project, I wanted to make a Christmas quilt, with the hopes that I could give it as a holiday present in 2011. I bought a Classic Christmas Fat Quarter Bundle by Michael Miller Fabrics, which contained 12 fat quarters.

Actually, I'm glad that I finished! It allowed me to answer the question (asked at the retreat), "How much fabric should I use for the quilt-a-long?" Answer: If you have 12 fat quarters, it will be just enough!

Dang, lady, look at you go! Are you going to bring the finished top to the March meeting?

Ann, Thanks! I was hoping to have the blocks of the month done ahead of time, to inspire folks to join along.

Meghan, Yup, I'll bring it to the March meeting. I'm hoping I have the backing done and the quilt basted by then!

When I was in Houston, I was shopping at the booths and bought some Robert Kaufman Christmas fabric. I thought it was the same line as my fabric for the BOM. Uh... no. My BOM fabric was Michael Miller! At least they all match. :)

These look great Bobbi! I have all of my blocks finished but I want to put them into a king size quilt so I think it will be a while before my quilt is finished.

Jessica, thanks! I started the blocks at last year's February retreat. I think I'll bring this with me, to finish at this weekend's retreat. I have so many projects I want to work on this weekend... I can't wait!
